Satisfaction Guaranteed!

In My Word, I said that “you will always have the poor among you,” and this has remained a steadfast truth through the ages. There are always those who are less fortunate than others, some would say, but I would prefer to say that there is always opportunity among you to give.

Your hard work and life choices should focus on giving of yourself, financially. A man’s finances are close to his heart, because it is a tangible substance, representative of his hard work.

Accomplishments come in time, but money is a reward that you can see and touch, bringing satisfaction of a job well done. Share this with others, those in need, and you will realize an even greater satisfaction, that no money can buy; a satisfaction that only the poor can give. Allow the poor to give to you in this way–an opportunity to be satisfied, and I will see to it that you never lack for any good thing.

Satisfaction guaranteed, and your money back!

“The poor you always have with you, but you do not always have me.” John 12:8

“He who oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.” Proverbs 14:31

“Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”–when you have it with you.” Proverbs 3:27-28

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” Proverbs 19:17

“Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” Luke 6:38

  1. I only have one problem with using money and Luke 6:38 together, Jesus is not taking about money here with the Pharisees , Jesus is talking about love and forgiveness. The NIV is a poor translation here when they used the word lap, would better translated heart. So I have to ask myself what is IT,in Luke 6:38, money or love and forgiveness? Do I want money or love and forgiveness poured into my heart? Please be careful with taking verses out of context that is how we mess up God’s meaning! I hear this verse misused all the time when they are about to take up the offering. It cause people to give out of greed, not as one purposes in his heart. Could that be a sin? 2 Corinthians 9:7 is a much better verse when it comes to giving in that I find it very easy to give everything I have to God. I do mean everything even the gloves, hat and coat I have on, on a cold day to a homeless man. Lori please this is not a rebuke I mean no offense, if I have caused any pain I would never had written a word. Love you very much in Christ Jesus our Lord.

  2. Oh James no offense taken–at all! I value your input and the wisdom God has given you and I welcome you to share your heart with me, because your deep love of God and for your fellow man is evident in your writing and your good heart shines through!

I do not see vs. 38 as being out of context however, I see that the Lord was taking many things into context to teach that in all matters that we handle in life we are operating in the laws of sowing and reaping. If we judge, we will be judged and oh, how I’ve found this to be so true. In my life, it seems, that every time I judge someone, at some point, somewhere down the road, the Holy Spirit will tap me and I will remember what I had judged and find that I am doing the very same thing I judged someone else for.

Forgive and you will be forgiven, give and it will be given unto you. I would see it more as being, out of context, if money were not included as in, why would that be different? In all our ways we are to emulate Him and giving is a way we can acknowledge that He is our source and that everything we have in life is a gift from Him and in giving we acknowledge our love of Him through us, to others and our trust that He will always provide for us in return.

James my brother, I have another word the Lord gave me on 3/19/13 that is on giving and also have plans of a tithing page that tells my personal experience, please do not feel that these stem from this conversation when they are posted. He has already given them to me and I simply write what He gives me. I know that many wounds have come to many people from various church bodies wrongly handling the Word. His light must shine in all areas and healing will come.

That said, if I am wrong, it is always my prayer that God correct me for I do not take this task lightly. I pray constantly that the Lord stop me from posting something He is not in agreement with and that I hear His Voice very clearly. I will continue to pray and seek the Lord’s heart.

Thank you so much my faithful follower, you encourage me so!! You just don’t know how much you have helped me in this endeavor I’ve said yes to. Thank you for all you do and do not hesitate to speak your heart to help me stay on the narrow path! Oops, that’s another one he’s already had me write and soon to come šŸ™‚ Blessings and the love of the Lord to you!

  3. Ok, so I looked it up in the Strongs Concordance and this is the definition per the King James Version the word they use is bosom, instead of lap. kolpos: the bosom

    Original Word: ĪŗĻŒĪ»Ļ€ĪæĻ‚, ĪæĻ…, į½
Part of Speech: Noun, MasculinTransliteration: kolpos
    Phonetic Spelling: (kol’-pos)
Short Definition: bosom, bosom of a garment, a bay, gulf
Definition: (a) sing. and plur: bosom; (sinus) the overhanging fold of the garment used as a pocket, (b) a bay, gulf.

2859 kĆ³lpos ā€“ properly, the upper part of the chest where a garment naturally folded to form a “pocket” ā€“ called the “bosom,” the position synonymous with intimacy (union).

So according to the Concordance, given the original language, he wasn’t referring to heart, but pocket and that could certainly refer to money.

James this was just to clarify and give us both peace, not to hammer it home ok? Praise God there are resources that help us search out a matter. I sure don’t know Greek and Hebrew and I am so thankful there are people who took on the monumental task of writing these things out. Imagine life without the dictionary? Thank you again for insisting my accountability, I value that from you!
