Nose: It is on the forefront of the body, extended out in front of the face–a sort of forerunner. It allows breath, air, into the body and it gives you the ability to smell good or bad scents.
Do you know that evil has a scent?
There is an odor to evil, just as there is an aroma of righteousness. Many do not live in the awareness of their spirit or that of others. I have given you the ability to discern good from evil. It will protect you as you move forward; cause you to hold back, to refrain from danger; urges you to engage with another whom the Father calls.
“But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumph, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing, to one a fragrance from death to death, to the other a fragrance from life to life. Who is sufficient for these things?” II Corinthians 2:14-16
What is this discernment?
It is the Holy Spirit who dwells within you. He will lead you and guide you into all things and teach you of things to come.
As you grow and learn, you will find your senses to be quickened as well. Alive and aware of all others around you, you will soon find that your understanding reaches deeper; knowledge comes quickly and a whole new realm opens to you, as you become aware and act on what you know.
Exciting isn’t it?
There is a whole world out there you know little of…
The world of the Spirit is teaming with life that most never see. They choose to avoid–fearing the unknown, remaining safe in the toil of flesh, for they trust not what they don’t see.
The eyes: Your sense of sight. Easy to trust what you see, for it’s right there in front of you. Ever contemplate your nose? It’s right there in front of you for all the world to ‘see’.
Become aware of your senses. They are there for more than pleasure, given for you to know–given you to grow.
“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness; for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV
“But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him.” God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For what person knows a man’s thoughts except the spirit of the man which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might understand the gifts bestowed on us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit.
The unspiritual man does not receive the gifts of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.” I Corinthians 2:9-16
“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” Philippians 1:9-11
