Can you imagine life without tools?
Tools are needed to get the job done. Yet, how many say they live their life for Me, but never ‘receive’ the tools they’ve been given. These tools are given to empower, yet they are despised. That may seem a harsh word and yet you may recount that Esau despised his birthright by selling it for a bowl of pottage. He did not value it–deemed it unimportant, for his flesh cried to be fed.
“Once when Jacob was boiling pottage, Esau came in from the field and he was famished. And Esau said to Jacob, ‘Let me eat some of that red pottage, for I am famished.’ (Therefore his name was called Edom.) Jacob said, ‘First sell me your birthright.’ Esau said, ‘I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?’ Jacob said, ‘Swear to me first.’ so he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils, and he ate and drank, and rose and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.” Genesis 25:29-34
So many despise My Word by not giving it time in their day. How many claim to believe and yet have never even read My Word–they don’t even know what it says?
How many reject prayer in tongues and claim it to be from the devil?
Blasphemy!
“For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.” I Corinthians 14:2
It is My gift to you to build you up on the inside. The gift of the Holy Spirit, praying inside, through you.
“And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, to be with you for ever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him; you know him, for he dwells with you, and will be in you.” John 14:16-17
“He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.” I Corinthians 14:4
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27
How treasured you are that I would give you this gift; how honored are those who’ve received. Many have received, and in this I AM blessed–glorified, but so many more left Him standing at the door.
Salvation and the Holy Spirit, the two should never part.
It was intended that you receive Him, right from the start.
You take your ease, but then come the pleas, the moment things go wrong. Tears are shed and many are dead for they–
- don’t know
- don’t have
- don’t use
the Power Tools.
“–for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 1:5
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you–” Acts 1:8a
Don’t despise your birthright, as Esau did; for he later sought it with tears, but it was too late…
deception snatched it away.
“When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with an exceedingly great and bitter cry, and said to his father, ‘Bless me, even me also, O my father!’ But he said, ‘Your brother came with guile, and he has taken away your blessing.'” Genesis 27:34-35
(read of the entire account in Genesis 25-27)
“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of working, but it is the same God who inspires them all in every one.
To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.” I Corinthians 12:4-11
“And he said to them, ‘Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?’ And they said, ‘No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.’ And he said, ‘Into what then were you baptized?’ They said, ‘Into John’s baptism.’ And Paul said, ‘John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.’ On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.” Acts 19:2-6
“–And he commanded us to preach to the people; and to testify that he is the one ordained by God to be judge of the living and the dead. To him all the prophets bear witness that every one who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
While Peter was still saying this, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God.
Then Peter declared, ‘Can any one forbid water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?’ And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.” Acts 10:42-48a
“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?'” Acts 11:15-17
“‘If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!'” Luke 11:13
