This New Baby

I had a dream that I had a new baby. The baby was wonderful and seemed so mature that I would forget that it needed to nurse. Though it still needed that early nourishment, it would often be reluctant to nurse, when I finally remembered, causing a struggle between me and my baby.

*******************************************************************************************

I want you to understand that with each new task I bring you to, there is a process of maturing for that task.

You may even have done it before and therefore think you can skip the early stages–diving in to what you know, but there is a process in which you both must grow; you and the task grow together. Each event is new, but as you grow, there’s always more to know–bigger things to chew.

Therefore, I want you to think of it as birthing a baby; be attentive to each need; learn its subtle differences; grow with what you know, but–grow!

Don’t get complacent, thinking that you’ve ‘arrived’, for many have derailed, thinking this way.

“For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacence of fools destroys them; but he who listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of evil.” Proverbs 1:32-33

Seek to know, seek to grow and thrive with each new ‘baby’ I bring your way. For each one is alive and needs you to thrive, step by, sometimes, tedious step–

always begin this way!

“Whatever your task, work heartily as serving the Lord and not men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24

“Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it until it receives the early and the late rain.” James 5:7

“Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually!” Psalms 105:4

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalms 1:1-3
