Are We There Yet?

When you look at a map it looks flat, small, and yet, you know that it covers an area that is large and wide; sometimes mountainous, rugged, curved, straight—

So, is your life!

You can gather destinations from a map–even track the journey, but you cannot see the dynamic complexity of infrastructure that went into building the roads to reach that destination.

So, it is with your life . . .

Your life is not simple but complex, and yet it wasn’t engineered, but ‘built’ by you!

  • YOU determine the destination.
  • YOU carve the roads.
  • YOU decide how to get over the mountains or to bring them low.

The choices you make, vehicle you take, path you walk–create the ‘map’ of your life.

Don’t you think, you should consult an Engineer?

I AM.

“A voice cries:¬† “In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Isaiah 40:3-5

“Blessed are the men whose strength is in thee, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the valley of Ba’ca they make it a place of springs; the early rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; the God of gods will be seen in Zion.” Psalms 34:5-7

“For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also. The sea is his, for he made it; for his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker! For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. O that today you would hearken to his voice!” Psalms 95:1-7

“I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding, which must be curbed with bit and bridle, else it will not keep with you. Many are the pangs of the wicked; but steadfast love surrounds him who trusts in the Lord. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!” Psalms 32:8-11

Awake!

Awake, awake, put on strength, for the Glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For the waters have run deep, almost to consuming levels, but I have called you into the deep and have shown you how to swim. Now I say swim–swim like¬† your life depends upon it. For the strength of the Lord is your buoyancy and you will not sink.

Falter not when others look down upon you, even seem to despise you; for their lack of understanding proves that they are not on a level to look down upon anyone. Everyone–yes everyone, has the ability and yes, the calling, to look up.

Look up for your redemption draweth nigh.

Look up for your redeemer calls you by name and that name translates as…

  • Righteous One
  • Faithful One
  • The Beloved of the Lord
  • My Chosen One
  • One who knows no sin for she wears the garment of the Blood.

“Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for there shall no more come unto you the uncircumcised and the unclean. Shake yourself from the dust, arise; O captive Jerusalem; loose the bonds from your neck, O captive daughter of Zion.” Is. 52:1-2

“Your eyes will see the King in his beauty; they will behold a land that stretches afar.” Is. 33:17

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.” Is. 40:28-20
